House redstarts are not very social birds; even outside the breeding season, they almost always forage alone. Only during migration in bad weather or when prey congregates in certain areas, such as riverbanks, do they form loose groups for short periods of time, but even in such cases, they maintain a considerable distance from each other. They have very loose relationships with their mating partner, and prefer to stay for themself.
